In the context of property and cargo loss and damage claims the term arises when an insurance company pays the claim of its insured and then pursues the responsible party for recovery as subrogee of its insured. The firm can help navigate through the complex laws, rules, regulations, and treaties applicable to transportation losses such as the Carmack Amendment, the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act (C.O.G.S.A.) and the Montreal Convention.
